Boston-based ABnote North America recently named Tim Wright as vice president of the government and identification markets for the company.

Wright previously served as vice president of product development for ABnote North America for the past two years. He has extensive experience in the card industry including overseeing payment card business activities for all of North America at Gemplus/Gemalto.

In addition, Wright's 20-plus career included serving as the vice president of sales for De La Rue Brand Protection in Dulles, Va.; manager of sales and marketing for secure card products for Dainippon Ink & Chemicals in Fort Lee, N.J.; and manager of the International Department at Takachiho Technica in Tokyo, Japan. He also is a former member of the Board of Directors at International Card Manufacturers Association and is a long-time participant of both the National Committee of Information Technology Standards and International Organization for Standardization.

“We are excited to have Tim in this new role as we see the critical nature of the government and identification markets today and in the future. Tim brings great experience and energy to both the position and the market,” said Jake Jacobs, executive vice president of sales and marketing.
