Independent Printing Now Uses Eco-friendly Ink

Independent Printing has upgraded to a more environmentally-friendly ink formulation at its De Pere, Wisc.-based commercial printing and folder manufacturing facility.

The Verdant series of process inks were created through a vigorous series of tests and reformulations, resulting in an eco-friendly product with a Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) percentage of less than 1 percent. The new series replaces a similar vegetable-based ink alternative which contained a VOC level of between 18 percent and 20 percent.

Independent’s new ink system is another example of the company’s continuing commitment towards sustainability and the environment.
